How To Make Money Online Writing Short Reports?

Writing and selling short reports can be one of the most profitable ways to make money online.

Just have a look at the information products online and you’ll see examples of people using this strategy to pull in $100,000 or more per year.

Here’s how the strategy works…

1) Pick a Market and a Topic

This is the important step. You want to find a hungry market and this is usually where people or desperate or passionate.

Examples are like the desperate bride who wants to lose weight before her wedding or the golfer that buys everything available to drive longer.

A quick way to do this is to look at Amazon and find the bestselling books in the different categories.

If there are a large amount of books on the same subject with good reviews will tell you the niche is hungry for information. Reading the book reviews will give you a great start as to what to write about.

Once you find your niche, then you create a short report based around the topics that your market is already buying.

2) Write the Short Report

All you need is a short 7-15 page report. That’s because the secret is to quickly create a low-priced product (less than $10) that will easily pull people into your sales funnel.

3) Promote It

The next step is to promote this product using as many different methods as possible.
This includes:

make money online with short reports

  • Getting affiliates and joint venture partners to promote it for a commission. If you list your short report for sale on Clickbank.com or Digiresults.com you will automatically have an affiliate program and thousands of affiliates available to promote.
  • Tell people about your report – friends, your list, social contacts, etc.
  • Blog about it and search engine optimize your blog post.
    .
  • Use article marketing, like submitting to EzineArticles.com.
  • Use forum marketing. Placing a link in your signature.
  • Use pay per click advertising.

4) Create A Backend

The first report you sell is what is known as the front end offer. However, once the customer has bought, there is no reason why you shouldn’t offer them your 2nd, 3rd and 4th report or more expensive products.

Most marketers will tell you that the back end (your 2nd, 3rd and 4th sale to a customer) is where most of the money is made.

These back end sales could be your own products or affiliate products that you receive a commission for.

It’s much easier to sell more products to a satisfied existing customer, than it is to sell to a new customer. Your existing customer already knows, likes and trusts you.

Customer lists are a gold mine compared to prospect lists. A simple email recommending a product to your customer list is quick, simple and will not cost you anything. So, any sales from that email are a huge bonus.

The bigger your customer list, the more money you’ll make with every email you send!

It’s a great strategy and very profitable.

Nice information. I have been looking for ways to make extra money and this is one. Thanks

Have you had much luck in attracting affiliates via clickbank?

  • Writing short reports isn’t as hard as some people think. Once they get into the habit of writing them they could write bigger more informative reports and add Clickbank affiliate banners and links into them and give them away for free. Creating an extra and passive income stream.

That’s exactly right Andi. It’s just getting started and getting into a routine. After some time you build so much momentum with so many free reports out there (and thousands of affiliate links) that you’ll be getting paid from sources you had forgotten about… It’s awesome!
